And Only to Deceive<\/a><\/em> (2005) Tasha Alexander<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I read And Only to Deceive<\/a> back in 2007 and found it a disappointment–I wanted a straight up mystery, but instead god a romance with elements of mystery.<\/p>\n

So how did I feel upon a re-read? I still very much liked the arc of Lady Emily discovering who her husband was, after his death. I thought those parts were very well done, and touching.<\/p>\n

I also enjoyed the historical elements, especially the small tidbits, such as Emily not being able to easily get up because she was wearing a corset.<\/p>\n

And I again found the mystery to be the weakest element of the story.<\/p>\n
