Hunter<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00VE732LC\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B00VE732LC&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=randomreading-20&amp;linkId=TFRI7NIXSS3EVF33\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/reading\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Spellbinder.jpg?resize=224%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Spellbinder\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5314\" \/><\/a>This is a Shadow Falls novella, and gives us some of Miranda Kane&#8217;s story.<\/p>\n<p>Plus Della and Kylie.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c&#8230;And then she fell to her knees like in that epic movie, Gone to the Breeze, I think that was the name of it, where the heroine yells out, \u2018I shall never go hungry again.\u2019\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cGone with the Wind,\u201d Miranda corrected, then stood dumbstruck hearing Della\u2019s description of the events.<br \/>\n\u201cBreeze, wind, same thing,\u201d Della said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be honest, I&#8217;ve always liked Miranda as a character, but never found her interesting, except for her interactions with Kylie and Della. She has always been very much a stereotypical teenage girls, and although there&#8217;s nothing wrong with that, it&#8217;s not something I find interesting.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, Miranda has seem very big and very unpleasant surprises in this story.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Mom told me all the fuss was about the cookies.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cCookies?\u201d Kylie asked and grinned. \u201cAnd you believed her.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cHey, I was three. Cookies were a big deal.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Although that bit is hilarious, it&#8217;s also very true to how we often accept things were are told as young children and never reconsider then until someone questions us about them.<\/p>\n<p>Of course a three-year-old would accept that her mom and another woman would fight over cookies. And if the subject didn&#8217;t keep coming up regularly, it would just set there in her mind as fact, without further critical thought.<\/p>\n<p>I found some parts of this story to accept, so I won&#8217;t say it&#8217;s anywhere near as good as the other novellas and stories, but it does have a giant revelation about Miranda.<br \/>\n<strong>Rating:6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Published by St. Martin&#8217;s Griffin<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Spellbinder (2015) C.C.
