\"\"<\/a>The first time I tried to listen to this was immediately after finishing a Rivers of London<\/a> audio book.<\/p>\n

There was just no way anyone can compare to Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, so I just couldn’t get into it.<\/p>\n

So, I started it again after when Mercy Blade<\/em> kept crashing the audible app on my phone (I never discovered what happened, but I had to finish listening at home–and not from my phone) and found that I enjoyed it when I wasn’t comparing it to Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.<\/p>\n

This is the first book in the Mercy Thompson series, which is a favorite of mine. I adore Mercy Thompson, and love that she isn’t strong the way most supernatural creatures are, but has worked and trained to take advantage of the strengths she has.<\/p>\n

I won’t say she is my favorite narrator, but I won’t mind listening if she narrates other books in the series.<\/p>\n
