The consequences of a mistake there are more upsetting, but less tragic\u2026 Ah.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This may be one of my favorite quote from the series:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHaggis is a brand of diapers,\u201d I said. \u201cThey\u2019re good, we used them for our daughter.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaggis is a kind of food, too,\u201d said Semyon, shaking his head. \u201cAlthough, as far as taste goes, there\u2019s probably not much difference.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cDon\u2019t kill me, I didn\u2019t do anything!\u201d the young guy babbled. His skin was whiter than his makeup now. \u201cComrade! Sputnik, vodka, perestroika! Gorbachev!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat last word could certainly get you killed in Russia,\u201d I muttered.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>There was a little dragon with bristling red scales standing in the stone archway and blocking my way. The dragon came up to my shoulder. He was supporting himself on his back legs and a long tail, twisted into a corkscrew. His webbed wings were flickering nervously behind his back. The glowing, faceted eyes glared at me, the mouth opened and spat out a gobbet of flame. So that\u2019s what you look like in the Twilight, Shooter I!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>How long are you going to be there?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen how much underwear and how many pairs of socks shall I put in?\u201d Svetlana asked reasonably. \u201cI can\u2019t imagine you washing anything while you\u2019re away.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cGive me as much as you think you can spare. I can see you\u2019re a good man, so why haggle? A good man is ashamed not to pay a poor taxi driver enough. He pays more than my conscience will allow me to ask.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIf it weren\u2019t for my wisdom, the powers of Darkness\u2014 may they wither in agony and burn in hell\u2014 would long ago have drunk their sweet little brains and chewed up their big stringy livers!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Nodir and Timur chortled. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand why our livers are stringy,\u201d said Nodir, pouring the cognac. \u201cBut why are our brains sweet?\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause wisdom is bitter, but foolishness and ignorance are sweet!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>I didn\u2019t go on arguing. What could I oppose to their faith? Nothing.
