I looked at Samuel, and said, \u201cHe\u2019s not here. I told you earlier that I haven\u2019t heard from him since last night.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cEnough games,\u201d Bran told me. \u201cGive the phone to Samuel.\u201d <\/p>\n

Raising my eyebrows at David Christiansen and his men, I handed the phone over and listened to Samuel explain matters. Bran had probably heard the lie in my voice when I told him Samuel wasn\u2019t here. Probably. But David, who had heard both sides of the conversation, was going to be forever convinced that the Marrok knew that Samuel was sitting beside me. <\/p>\n

I hid my satisfaction. The more powerful the wolves believed Bran, the safer he was.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I do love this series.<\/p>\n
