\"Untitled-1\"<\/a>Book 8 finds Beauclaire wanting his father’s walking stick back from Mercy. <\/p>\n

\u201cBeauclaire knew that someone was going to have to take out Lugh. He was, apparently, girding up his loins to do just that when Da took care of it. That didn\u2019t mean he didn\u2019t swear vengeance.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Adam’s ex-wife fleeing back to Adam from a stalker has hurt her (and possibly killed a man she dated). But Christy is manipulative by nature, and her presence makes things very difficult for Mercy (and everyone else in the pack).<\/p>\n

\u201cYou should hear what she says about you.\u201d <\/p>\n

No. No, I shouldn\u2019t. Neither should Jesse, but there was nothing I could do about that.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But she’s not a terrible unfeeling person. She’s just self-centered.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think your stalker just burned down your condo, building and all.\u201d <\/p>\n

She paled. \u201cDid they get everyone out?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We get to spend a fair amount of time with Honey, who is still in mourning over the loss of her mate.<\/p>\n

Also, Coyote comes back for a visit.<\/p>\n

Coyote laughed. \u201cThat one has been trying to avoid me for most of his life.\u201d His white t-shirt set off his long black braid, tied with a pink scrunchie. <\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe if you didn\u2019t get him sent to prison when you visited, he\u2019d be more interested in seeing you,\u201d I suggested, trying not to stare at the scrunchie. It had a white lamb dangling from a chain.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cStupid, stupid, stupid,\u201d Gary chanted as he ran. \u201cStupid freaking Coyote. Always getting me in trouble.\u201d <\/p>\n

I bumped him with my shoulder. \u201cAccept some responsibility for your own life,\u201d I panted, finally. \u201cYou could have stayed sitting in the middle of the road. You chose to come with us.\u201d <\/p>\n

Gary gave me an irritated look. \u201cWhose side are you on anyway?\u201d <\/p>\n

He wasn\u2019t as out of breath as I was. Maybe he had more practice running.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Beauclaire looked at me. \u201cI don\u2019t know Coyote,\u201d he said. \u201cMaybe I will have to remedy that.\u201d <\/p>\n

Adam\u2019s lips curled up in satisfaction. \u201cI would pay money,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
