The image of the drowned child prostitute follows him as his own problems and disasters multiply.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>My favorite character in this story was the old woman who sat on her porch watching all the sailors go by.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI sit here most days.\u00a0 I like to watch the sailor boys come and go.\u201d\u00a0 She cackled again.\u00a0 \u201cSuch bodies!\u00a0 Young.\u00a0 Strong.\u00a0 Such muscles.\u00a0 Give me a muscular man any day.\u00a0 They make the best lovers because they don\u2019t get tired.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The women around her squealed and giggled.\u00a0 One of them covered her face and said, \u201cMother, please don\u2019t say such things.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I also like the character who introduces himself into Akitada&#8217;s life; it&#8217;s also interesting how horrified I am by Akitada&#8217;s reaction to Saburo (not because of his scars, but because of his history). Considering Akitado&#8217;s character and the time in which he lives, it is his reaction which would be correct, rather than my wishes to how he would act.<\/p>\n<p>I also liked this saying very much:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>They say, you cannot stop the birds of sorrow, but you can prevent them from building nests in your hair.\u201d\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Rating: 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Published by Ingrid J.
