One of the things I particularly like about this story is the interaction between the kids.<\/p>\n

\u201cShut your piehole, punk kid,\u201d Max said, thumping her on the head with the palm of his hand. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m telling Mama you said \u2018Shut your piehole,\u2019\u201d Michael said. \u201c\u2018 Shut your piehole\u2019 is a bad word.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018 Shut your piehole\u2019 is three words, Michael,\u201d said Mackie. <\/p>\n

Undaunted, Michael said, \u201cI\u2019m telling Mama you used three bad words.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Those conversations actually tell us as much about the parents as they do the kids, and I thought it was particularly well done.<\/p>\n
