In the realms of the Renee and the Wills mortals prepare for war, even without Hafydd there to control and guide them.<\/p>\n<p>Taken as a whole, the story was good, although I felt the middle dragged a little. As with all Sean Russell&#8217;s tales, things never go quite as you expect them, which is one of the things I like.<\/p>\n<p>What I liked most about the story was how the nagar influenced or failed to influence the mortals they inhabited. I found it very interesting to compare Elise and Hafydd and the deals they made with their nagar and how they allowed the nagars to influence who they became.<\/p>\n<p>This is not my favorite Sean Russell series, primarily because I think the second book is a little weak.
