So when Randall Munroe wrote a book based upon his What If answers, I snatched it up. <br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/reading\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/randall-munroe.png?resize=300%2C240&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8871\" \/>Because: Randall Munroe.<\/p>\n<p>But I bought the actual physical book, so it sat around collecting dust. So I got the ebook when it went on sale, and THAT version I finally read.<br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/reading\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/cold-teeth.png?resize=300%2C253&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"253\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8872\" \/>So what is What If? It&#8217;s the author answering some of the many hypothetical questions that were sent to him. And sharing some of the questions he did NOT answer.<br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/klishis.com\/reading\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/dehydrate.png?resize=300%2C237&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"237\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8875\" \/><br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So what about the questions he did answer?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Q. What would happen if you made a periodic table out of cube-shaped bricks, where each brick was made of the corresponding element?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He uses actual science to (essentially) tell you what a terrible idea your question would be.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The inert argon is heavier than air, so it would just spread out and cover the ground. Don\u2019t worry about the argon. If there were, it would just be the word \u201cNO\u201d scrawled over and over in charred blood.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>The explosion would be just the right size to maximize the amount of paperwork your lab would face. If the explosion were smaller, you could potentially cover it up.
