Broom

New flower pr0n!

The broom, which I adore, had about three flowers on it today. I figure by the weekend it should be gorgeous; I can’t wait!

If you’ve never seen a broom in bloom before, it is a thing to behold. It has lots of long stems, and up and down the plant the stems are covered in scarlet flowers with a yellow heart. When it’s in full bloom it’s one of the most beautify plants I have.

Pretty! Our leaves just popped out over the last two days. It’s starting to look less bleak and grim, which is nice.

Just wait till the broom blooms. :)

Hopefully you’ll get some greenery soon. I love winter, but I also love spring and watching everything bloom. Not sure how I’d be if I had to wait until Mid May for that!

I had a yellow broom that I moved (in the early spring, I believe). It seemed to do OK, putting out a tentative green shoot that I accidentally broke off while mowing. Now there are no shoots. I don’t know if it’s dead or sulking.
Oh, I just had an idea. I put coffee grounds on my irises when they weren’t blooming and it seemed to help. Next time I have coffee… or when I have a guest who has coffee rather… I’ll put the grounds on the roots. Might help.
