In most parts of West Virginia, a person without a vehicle can't get to a job or a job interview. Lack of transportation also limits access to safe and affordable housing, medical care, educational opportunities and even groceries. If you're thinking about trading your car for a new one, consider donating it to the non-profit Good News Mountaineer Garage.

Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 and suffering from long-term medical hair loss. They will accept 10" minimum hair length (tip to tip), bundled in ponytail or braid.
Michael and I have both donated hair. He is growing his back out, mine will remain short.

RDVIC's 24 hour hot-line provides crisis counseling for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, incest, and other crimes of violence. Emergency, temporary shelter is provided for battered women and their children. Individual counseling, support groups, and advocacy in obtaining legal, medical, and social services is provided.
