How About Them Apples

More playing with pictures. Feel free to move along if this bores the ever living snot out of you. Or feel free to force the conversation to something that interests you. It’s Friday, so it’s all good.

These have all be cropped and photoshopped to some degree. My biggest problem with the original picture is I hate the bowl o’ tea bags in the back. Ugly ugly ugly. So I *had* to remove it. Which lead to my cropping issues.

The cropping makes the fact they’re washed apples more noticeable, which I like.

I’m trying to think of something intelligent to say, but I just got home and the brain is a little unserious at the moment. I’ll try to come back when I think of something clever. But I did want to leave a comment to say I like these.

I really like the cut marks on the cutting board. I’m not sure why. :)

I don’t know what exactly it is about your blog here, what it’s always constantly (re)loading, but it keeps crashing my (admittedly ancient and antiquated) web browser. -.-

    Uhh, anyway.

I like the second picture best. Yes, the tea bags are clearly visible in the back on that one, but I think this is more the sort of lesson you learn about better planning for your future shots, than how to get them out after the fact.

  4. Nathan Says:

What MWT said. #2 is the best shot. Photoshop the teabags out.

  5. Michelle Says:

I used the sharp filter in photoshop, and that made the water droplets stand out more than they would have normally. I think that helped immensely.

MWT, I’ll look and see if there are any wild scripts or refreshes. The only refresh I know of is in the Recent Comments iFrame. That shouldn’t affect the remainder of the page. It could also be one of the widgets–the tag widget or the FLickr widget. I recently re-added the FLikr widget, so if this is a new issue, that may be the problem.

And last kitchen/foot shots I moved Grandmom’s tea bags beforehand. :)

I like the third because of the amped up contrast and color saturation. It’s the most eye-catching.

MWT - do you have the same problems with my site, still? I wonder if Michelle and I use the same Flickr widget?

  7. MWT Says:

Actually, your site is working pretty well now, Jeri. At least, to the extent that I see something other than a blank page. :) The columns are extra narrow at work but I can still read everything so it’s okay.

The thing that seems to load the most over here is from Amazon.

  8. Michelle Says:

    MWT,

I’ll have to look into that. The only script for Amazon should load last, and allows for more information to appear when I post a link to an Amazon item.

But as I said, that’s pretty much the last thing on the page to load, and shouldn’t be slowing down the page.

I’ll check the script and see if there’s anything wonky there.

Next time I see you on my page, I’ll turn widgets on and off and you can tell me if that makes a difference. :)

Well, I’m watching it right now, transferring data from klishis.com followed by transferring data from http://www.assoc-amazon.com, about 50 times in a row.
