Eww! Gross! Stitches!

Not for the feint of heart–the stitches are really ugly looking.

Here’s the outside of my ankle. You can really see how swollen my foot is here.

More ugly stitches and some really nice purple color around the ankle.

I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me to get the swelling down and motion back into the joint.

Reminds me of the joint in the original G.I. Joe dolls, er, action figures. Not the little ones, the ones that could beat up Ken and date Barbie from the 60s.

He should know, my Barbie regulary dumped Ken for Phil’s GI Joe when we were kids…

Considering it’s only been a week, the ankle looks pretty good.

Don’t worry, I read medical records and review client injury photos for a living, not a whole lot grosses me out any more… she sez munching her lunch as she sees your pictures!!

Do you really think any of this crowd won’t click on a link you’ve told us might be gross? I’m sure you know us better than that.

And I have to say, those are some pretty cool looking stitches. You’ll probably be able to win bar brawls just by showing them and having a decent (made up) story!

  5. Nathan Says:

Ooooh! Ooooh! Ooooh! You should totally do a tracing and then get it done as a tattoo after the stitches come out!

  6. Steve Buchheit Says:

Whenever we meet we can compare scars. Once their out, you can get E Gel Caps, break open, and massage into the scar. Just a hint (plus it helps keep the scar from attaching to the muscle, the massaging of it that is).

    Healing nicely.

And shouldn’t this be in the Puke Bucket? Just askin’.

  8. Eric Says:

Whenever we meet we can compare scars.

And sing “Show Me The Way To Go Home”!

And then one of us can be eaten by a shark. Not it!

    :D

  9. Eric Says:

(Oh and seriously: along with what Steve said–the massaging is good, like he said; you can also you cocoa butter, which is what the physical therapist recommended when instructing me on massaging my scars.)
