Latin Phrases

I haven’t spent much time at my desk recently (yay for my laptop!)

So here are some of the Latin phrases from my calendar I particularly liked:

Fides facit fidem
Faith creates faith

Fortuna ceaca est– Cicero
Fortune is blind
(I feel like I should have known that one)

Errare humanum est – Seneca
To err is human

Scio quid velis

I know what you want
(That should really be the title of an erudite pop song. Feel free to write it now I’ve given you the idea.)

Vae victis – Livy
Woe to the vanquished

Parvum parva decent
– Horace
Small things become the small

Non omnia possumus omnes – Virgil
We can’t all do everything
(That’s getting taped to my desk)
