PG

Speaking of screwed up…

According to the Mingle Blog Rating, this weblog has a rating of PG, while my book review weblog has a rating of NC-17.

Ummm….

That’s wrong. That’s really wrong.

The ratings and the reasons for the ratings follow:

For this weblog:

“Dead” and “bomb” give me a PG rating?

Why is “dead” a bad word? What if you were talking about the recent loss of a pet or loved one? They’re just pulling these words out of context to get a rating.

For my book review website:

Talk about lacking context! The mentions of “sex” all related to the sexual content of the books. Not actual, you know, descriptions of boinking. And I believe the “dead” words were book titles.

This rating makes me feel like I’ve been reviewing erotica or something smutty.

The only thing of value is that they tell you what the rating is based on, so you have some basis for judging yourself.

And since they only look at written content, if I had naughty pictures, the rating wouldn’t pick up on them.

That’s fucked up.
