Sunday Flower Pr0n
After all the rain, all my plants seem to be going nuts. Flowers everywhere.
Additionally, the bees have now moved from the lavender to the echinacea. I’m even seeing what look to be honey bees for the first time ever, which is pretty awesome.
The orange coneflower is along the front of the house, and I don’t think it gets enough sun where it is. If I ever get around to splitting flowers and rearranging the beds, this plant is going to be shifted to the south end, where there is less shade from the silver maple.
We planted two Rose of Sharon last fall (end of the season bargains at Lowes.) I chose Rose of Sharon because they grow quickly, and I’d like some some privacy for the front porch. Right now, the plant is about two feet high, and the flowers on this plant look about as large as the plant itself.
Here are some hosta flowers in what is slowly becoming a shade garden by the front walk.
Here is one of the buds of the balloon flowers. Even these plants have multiple flowers this year.
And here’s one of the flowers.
Another flower on the peach daylily. They’re such a lovely color, and are blooming far longer than they did last summer.
Here’s some more hot bee on flower action.
Two different species of bees! On the same flower!
Lesson of the day: Don’t use the Macro setting if you want to capture bees. All you get is a giant vaguely bee shaped blur.
