So, last week I gave a friend a Thursday Photography Challenge, and this week she asked for another one.
Sadly, I forgot about it myself until I got home. Sad, ‘eh?
OK, they wanted to extend, so I got the full list now.
Here were the items to find:
park bench
pink flowers
pink form of transportation
something else pink
something that makes you think of Steampunk
exuberance

Yesterday’s waterfowl.
Note that the littler ducks were not allowed to play in the pond while the teenage ducks were swimming around.
Bad influence I suppose.

Today’s were more entertaining live–less so in photographic form. The ducklings were attempting to fly from the water. As they don’t have feathers, all they succeeded in doing was moving REALLY FAST across the water in very short bursts.
But it looked like they were having a lot of fun doing so.

Apparently, when I get off work is the time that the mother duck decides to bring out her ducklings, since I keep seeing them waddling down the stream to the pond on my way home.

And today I saw the ducklings in the lower area, which are now quite obviously much older than the other set of ducklings. I counted eight, but as these were harder to see, there may be more.

And we were, in fact, speaking of ducks.
Duckling count seems to be ten.

The ducklings are slightly easier to count when their in the water, so snapped a quick picture while they were swimming around.

Eleven. I counted eleven ducklings.
Then I looked over the other side, the drainage field, and saw two geese. And then I noticed things moving around in the grass near the edge of the water.
Even MORE ducklings!

There are only four really visible in this picture, but I saw lots more movement in the grass. Surprising how good their camouflage is.
Yup. I lead an exciting life.
I am still not positive as to the exact number of ducklings. I think there may be nine, but I can usually only count seven in most of my pictures.

Someone’s been busy!

Still only boy ducks–guess the women wanted to get ’em out of their feathers for awhile, and sent ’em out to the watering hole.

INCOMING! (you’ll probably need to see the larger size, but even then it’s not that clear.)

I love how the tree in the background looks like a giant puffball.

And more ducks, although (you can’t necessarily tell from the picture) it’s all the boy ducks hanging out together. I’m presuming the girl ducks have places more important to be right now.

Here it is–in reverse order.

There were taken along the Mon Rail Trail.

And in between the storms we had sunshine.

It was pretty earlier in the day–not so much by the time I walked home.

Daffodils are almost ready to bloom. Almost.
