This week’s word is honor of Bridge Day: BASE
So, I haven’t posted one of these in awhile, but that’s partially because I haven’t baked anything in awhile. But we skipped the Farmer’s Market this weekend, so I needed to make bread, and I had pumpkins that needed cooked down, so that kept me out of trouble for a few hours.
Route 19 passes by/through Summersville, which perhaps best known for being the biggest speed trap in the state.
The bridge over Summersville Lake actually has a pedestrian walk, and is an amazing view.
So, if you’re unfamiliar with this West Virginia holiday of sorts, Bridge Day is when they close the New River Gorge Bridge for six hours so you can walk across it, rappel down it, and jump off it.
We went for walking across the bridge and taking pictures.
We’re almost there!
Michael: I won’t jump out of an airplane, I won’t jump off a bridge, but I might rappel.
Michelle: Really?
Michael: It’s just like a shortcut to the ground!
Michelle: So? BASE jumping is an even FASTER shortcut!
And with that, he’ll probably never rappel either.
Had clear skies coming home, so managed to get everything today.
Bird. This was disappointing only because earlier this week I saw about thirty birds hanging out by the PRT tracks.
If it’s raining as hard Thursday as it was Wednesday, I won’t be getting many pictures.
This week’s things to find:
Bird
Hole
Wind
Ring
Flat
Destroyed
How is it Wednesday already?! I think time is playing games with me. And it’s almost certainly some game I hate, which brings us to today’s starter word: Monopoly
Saturday we took a nice scenic drive to Blackwater Falls State Park. Oddly, despite the number of times we’ve visited the park over the course of our lives, we’d never actually hiked around the park, so that’s what we did this weekend.
Our trip to Blackwater Falls State Park this weekend was gorgeous, with plenty of color in the trees.
