Sergeant Delicious (2020) Annabeth Albert
I shouldn’t have started off today with a Josh Lanyon short story. No other short story was going to measure up (unless it was another Josh Lanyon short story, which I don’t seem to have on my TBR pile.)
Xavier is going to be discharged in just a few weeks. While looking for an apartment or roommate, he comes across an ad looking for someone looking for someone to join him for dinner.
Wanted: Companion for exquisite five course gourmet Valentine’s Day dinner at a top-secret Portland restaurant, no sex or romance required! Just a funny, gay, foodie guy in dire need of stimulating dinner conversation. Sense of adventure and sweet tooth appreciated.
What I really liked about the story was the talk about food. And I liked that Damien was awkward and clumsy (because of course I did). And Damien was also most like demi, which was also nice.
What I didn’t really like was that there were two super long sex scenes in this short story.
I really wanted more food.
