Love, Marriage, and a Baby Carriage (2016) C.S. Poe
It’s been a rough couple days. I desperately needed something light and funny so I decided a reread of Love, Marriage, and a Baby Carriage was necessary.
This is a short story, and currently you can’t find it anywhere, but OMG it is one of the best things.
It is troupe soup, where she took all the tropes–fated mates, virgin hero, surprise baby, frantic chase scenes, shifters–and threw them into a single story, where what came out was AMAZING.
Here’s the blurb:
Theodore Reinhart is a young man looking for love. In San Diego. At a convention. For penguin shifters. WaddleCon is the go-to event of the year when looking for your life partner, but Theodore isn’t comfortable with the game they’ve turned dating into, nor does the convention provide for the gay community. A mistake in speed dating table assignments puts Theodore in front of Wesley O’Neill, a handsome and confident model who lets it slip that he’s definitely noticed the spark of attraction between them.
It’s only 37 pages so it’s hard to quote, but OMG THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER.
Once she gets her rights back from Dreamspinner I will let you know, because it is amazing and you need this story in your life.
