Apparently, this is secretly Monday.

I knew I was going to have to spend the evening emptying out the refrigerator, and wasn’t looking forward to it. What caught me completely off guard was coming home to discover that some jackass had gone off the road and destroyed the light at the end of our walk.

This is what we found when we pulled into the driveway after work. No note, just a complete destruction of my property. Notice how far they had to come off the road to take down the light.
This is what I spent the evening doing:

The freezer has never been this empty, ever. What’s left is primarily stuff that simply keeps better in the freezer: butter and nuts for baking.

The fridge has a handful of things that thawed in the freezer that we can still safely eat, and I filled the bottom shelf with Izzy and water, because it was too depressing to see a completely empty fridge.

That was a lot of food we had to throw away. Luckily, much of it could go down the disposal or into the compost, so maybe the trash won’t get horrifically stinky. Still a terrible waste though.
