Zzzzzz
Just got back from Tygart Lake where my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins were vacationing.
Got to see the twins.
Fun evening.
Very tired.
Work tomorrow.
Must got to bed.

I’ve been playing around with photoshop, so see if I can take indoor pictures of the cats without the flash (so Kat doesn’t close his eyes on every picture) [And also because I need to learn these tools in Photoshop.]. I need also to play with the settings on the camera, but the problem is that a long exposure means I get a furry blur.
Here’s what I got this week:
I liked Kit’s facial expression here, but the more I lightened the picture, the blurrier it got.
Kat thinks my bathrobe is the best thing in the world, so if I sit down after showering, he’s in my lap begging to be petted. I took this picture holding the camera out from my body and hoping I’d get him in the picture.
This is the normal look we get from him. Slightly disgruntled and annoyed.
You can see the originals in my Flickr account.
I’m all done in after this week. We slept in this morning (at least as much as I can sleep in), went to the grocery store, and then we’re going to see The Dark Night.
Then I may come home and take a nap. Because next week may be just as rough.
On the bright side, my presentation to the faculty members seemed to go over well, as did the class I taught them later.
This years hat bettor is Luke Ravenstahl, mayor of Pittsburgh.
He saw the teeth sitting on the glass shelf when he walked into the bathroom. His hand immediately came up to his mouth, as if there was a possibility someone could have stolen his teeth while he was asleep.

A friend had an excellent post come pouring out, but did not want the post to appear on their own site, for fear of upsetting loved ones. So I am posting it here. I will also post any comments or responses the author has to make, anonymously, if the author so desires.
And I may steal the idea for a post of my own later.
This week, I was running on empty and had nothing to write, so I turned to a writing site for writing prompts. The one that caught my attention was:
“I wish I could…”
Right now, I wish I could walk away from my tremendous load of stress and obligation. I’d trade being comfortably well off for being sane. If I could, I’d quit, now, and sell or give away as much of my possessions as possible. I’d simplify everything, and focus instead on living an interesting and rewarding life. I’d travel, make art, write, and trust the universe to provide.
But I have a family who requires the stability of a home, and I have an obligation to keep their daily routine and their stuff in place.
So I work fifty hours a week at a job that makes me crazy but pays a professional wage, I keep the home fires burning, and I store my dreams of freedom and travel and art in a box on a shelf, for someday.
I just wish there was a little more space in my life for me.
Here’s what my pedometer says:
Total steps: 17369
Aerobic steps: 11322
Aerobic activity: 98 minutes
Miles walked: 8.22
The miles walked is actually low, because my exercise steps are longer than my regular walking steps.
Which is good, because I’m not going to exercise at all tomorrow. :)
Apparently I’m not the only one struggling on this Monday.
Details of the weekend? Napped and read and napped and read. (Heat makes me extremely lethargic. Ugh.)
Upcoming week? Busy busy busy. Plus Michael’s birthday. Plus my Dad’s birthday. Pumpkin pie for Michael, and I believe Lemon Meringue for my dad.
Otherwise? Nothing.
So feel free to put your feet up and enjoy the air conditioning. I’ve got it cranked down to 70. Ahhh!

ADDENDUM the First:
Why was it one of those days? Well, for one thing, I made the discovery that one of the @#&$#^@##@ high school kids in the HISTA program vomited down the front of the women’s rest room door. How did I discover this? I saw the mess on the carpet and was trying not to step in it, when I put my hand on the bathroom door.
It took a lot of handwashing before I felt somewhat normal.
I blame John for this.
I haven’t found the specific article I read (this is not a surprise, all things considered) but here’s an article from WebMD on napping and nap length.
I’m still looking for the original article though.
This time, for pages of mine that have been visited recently.
