Beautiful Saturday
It’s 73 and sunny outside–perfect weather for the game we’re listening to on the radio.
Pizza is ready to go when my Dad and brother get here.
All around lovely day so far.

That’s What You Think Is Offensive?
A post of Eric’s lead me to MSNBC’s “Most Offensive Costumes of 2009” and although one or two of them may have qualified as offensive, I thought most of them were actually hilarious.
I mean, a Bernie Madoff costume? That’s not offensive, that’s hilarious!
This on the other hand, is both offensive and hilarious. (NOTE: If you aren’t a WVU fan, you probably won’t get the joke. Also, totally safe for work.)

Free to a Good Home: Dishes
When we got our Fiestaware dishes, I no longer have any need of our old dishes, which have been sitting waiting for me to do something with them.
They’re Mikasa and I’ve got plates, bowls, mugs etc, all in excellent condition.
If you know anyone in need of a set of dishes, send them my way.
Yes, I know I could probably sell them on e-bay, but I’d rather give them to someone who needs them.

Craft Fair at Ripley
Just a reminder, the Craft Fair at Ripley is fast approaching! July 2nd through 4th this year.
If you have the opportunity, and have any interest in Crafts, I highly recommend checking it out. I also recommend getting there early in the day, as the fairgrounds can get hot if it’s hot weather.
But then there’s always homemade ice cream to cool you down…

Supreme Court Rules Against Massey & Blankenship
Brent Benjamin should have stepped down from the Massey case.
…(T)he $3 million Blankenship spent to unseat the incumbent justice who was seeking re-election and replace him with Benjamin “had a significant and disproportionate influence in placing Justice Benjamin on the case.”
Something to note here:
“It is an old cliche, but sometimes the cure is worse than the disease,” Roberts said. He wrote that it is not clear that Blankenship’s money even affected the outcome of the election.
“I would give the voters of West Virginia more credit than that,” he said.
In fact, once WV voters realized what Blankenship was up to, we did soundly reject the candidates he supported. Unfortunately, when Benjamin was elected, it wasn’t clear what was happening. The next election, however, it was clear what Blankenship was doing, and his efforts to buy WV politicians was soundly rejected.
Lets hope that state law remains so that when Blankenship and his ilk attempt to buy WV politicians, we can see where the money is coming from, instead of hiding that money behind fake groups such as, “For the Sake of the Kids.”

Farmer’s Market
The Morgantown Farmer’s Market begins its season tomorrow.
What I’d like to get are fresh eggs.
Guess I’d better get up early then.
