That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon (2021) Kimberly Lemming (Mead Mishaps)

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a DemonThis is utterly ridiculous.

My self-preserving habits made me a bit of an outlier with the other girls in town. “Who wouldn’t want to go off on a grand adventure with a bunch of hot heroes also chosen by the goddess?”

Me bitches. No, thank you.

And also utterly delightful.

“What is that?” He said with disdain.

“This is crawfish, and it’s about to be our dinner.”

“You intend to feed me swamp spiders?” He asked, raising a brow.

I enjoyed the hell out of this story. Despite all the boinking. (It was skimable–I didn’t feel like I was missing any plot points by doing so, so my thanks for that madame author.)

Cinnamon, whose family runs the spice farm–has no interest in adventures, and is delighted when she is not chosen to head off on the goddesses’ quest to kill demons.

Unfortunately, she runs into a demon on the way home from the celebration sending off the adventurers, and ends up having to go on an adventure anyway.

I kept reading bits out to Michael. Such as this, when she becomes the head cook on a pirate ship.

I chose ten orcs to help man the kitchens. They seemed to take direction well and weren’t covered in fur like the beast-men. They agreed on the condition that they got first pick on choice cuts of meat. Seemed fair to me. Although, it did take me a minute to get used to the sight of them eating raw pig hearts. I would have picked the shoulder as the best cut, but to each their own, I suppose.

It is silly and fun but also logical with wonderful world building.

And lots of cooking.

It’s also unabashedly sex-positive, which I appreciate even if I don’t want to read it.

I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a fun fantasy romp.
