Frost Burned, Audio Edition (2013) Patricia Briggs narrated by Lorelei King
This wasn’t one of my favorite Mercy stories, although I still like Ben’s continued climb from being a complete jerk to someone who remains troubled but is trying to become a decent human.
Mostly I think it’s the vampires that are the problem here. I like the end fight, but the whole thing seems to have come out of left field. I don’t really get why families were targeted, except to add to the drama. And I’m not sure about Gabriel’s mother being so accepting of everything that happens–considering that her girls were in far greater danger here than they were from Samuel (which was her main point of contention, although the men with guns didn’t help I’m sure).
So, some weaknesses. But I still am super irritated that they library doesn’t have the next two books as audio, and so I have to read them. (Mostly this is because I’ll have to figure out sooner what I want to listen to next.)
