Untouchable (2018) Talia Hibbert (Ravenswood)

Untouchable

“So, just to be clear,” she said slowly, “you are not concerned by my numerous criminal convictions.”

“Nah. I’m used to having a convicted criminal in the house.”

“You… are?”

“Yeah.” He leaned in close, his expression conspiratorial, and she couldn’t help it— she leaned in too. Then he whispered, “It’s me.”

“When I’m depressed,” Nate said casually, “I always know what I should be doing. I know exactly. I just don’t do it.”

He turned his best parental glare on his daughter and said, “Bethany. Don’t feed your brother random plant life.”

Beth stuck out her tongue.

Beth had inherited, amongst other things, Nate’s childhood reluctance to respond to criticism, so she didn’t answer verbally.

“I HAVE SEEN THE SUN,” Josh bellowed, “AND IT IS YELLOW!”
