Sam has returned to England missing both an arm and a direction for his life. And he doesn’t want the frivolity of the annual Christmas visit with his mother’s best friend. But his mother begs, so he remains.

He does many things for his mother.

He wore his false arm even when he didn’t want to because he knew how much she hated seeing his empty sleeve.

Jasper hasn’t seen Sam for five years, since the last Christmas before Sam went to war. Since the kiss that sent Sam running.

It was a surprisingly sweet novella.
