Kitty Goes to Washington audible version (2006/2009) Carrie Vaughn narrated by Marguerite Gavin

Kitty-Goes-to-WashingtonI have the final Kitty book waiting for me to read, so I’ve been working my way back through the series in audio. (This is the second book.)

This book finds Kitty called to Washington to testify about the supernatural before a Senate committee.

Kitty meets a variety of people, some of whom were complex, like Alette, the vampire mistress if Washington DC, and Ahmed, the owner of a lycanthrope bar that is a safe house for any weres visiting the city. And it is these complex characters that really made the story.

There were some part of the story that I took issue with–the Bad thing that happens to Kitty unfolds in a way that still strikes me as odd. I like that Kitty gets to keep her agency, but I’m not sure about the liklihood of the way things happen.

Marguerite Gavin does a good job of narrating the story, getting the different voices.
