The Tea Dragon Society (2020) K. O’Neill
It’s about a girl, who is learning how to be a blacksmith.
She finds a lost dragon and returns it to its owner, and slowly learns about tea dragons.
And also slowly becomes friends not just with the dragons owner, but with others who have tea dragons as well.
It’s an interesting and imaginative story, but (and I can’t believe I’m saying this) it might actually be a little too cute, and a little too sweet.
It’s very much about the power of friends, and that the true treasure was the friends we made along the way.
I think it’s less of a story with a plot, and more of a small window into this world so very unlike our own. That’s not a bad thing, but it definitely skews to a much younger reader, and at some point I should reread this, with that audience in mind.
