Hearts and Flowers: A Tale of Hay Fever and Bad Decor (2013) Angel Martinez

Hearts and FlowersThis is a very silly story.

The ballroom looked like a Hallmark store had wandered by and thrown up its innards in a fit of disgust over the excesses of the season.

Michael has been forced to attend a costumed Valentine’s party by his objectively terribly boss.

Being forced to keep track of his boss’s stable was probably some form of harassment but it was too damn embarrassing to file a complaint with human resources.

He hopes to sneak out early, but then cupid’s arrow goes terribly, terribly wrong, and a fluffy pink teddy bear suddenly goes on a rampage.

And as with her other books I’ve read, it’s also a lot of fun.

“Good. They’re talking in euphemisms. Our work’s done here.”

It had slight parallels to another cupid novella, Aidan Wayne’s Making Love, but mostly because of the theme of the reality of a cupid being inept.

It was silly and fun and quite enjoyable (but the cover (not the one I picked) is pretty awful.
