he caught sight of Lord Christmas Gale, on his hands and knees, searching under a table in the near-empty Green Room. This was a bit unusual, even for Christmas. Soulden walked stealthily over and stood behind him, then boomed, “Joy to the world.”

Soulden, who smiled vacantly in public, not wishing to give anyone the impression there was anything between his ears but a faint and pleasant breeze, craved a midnight sky and solitude.

“My father wears a set of false teeth. Expensive things, wondrously made. Do you know what they call them? Waterloo teeth. I asked him once if he ever wondered if it was my brother’s teeth rattling around in his skull now.”

“Thank you, for that information I specifically requested you not divulge.”
