“Caramel-stuffed snickerdoodles,” Cole remarked. “I’ll make a note that you liked them.”

Scott couldn’t say how he knew that this meant that Cole was never going to make them for her again, but he did.

“I’m more interested in someone’s excitement over something they have just discovered, than someone’s smug, pompous insistence that there is a right and a wrong way to learn to love something.”

Scott didn’t get any more time to think about it, because Becks wanted a snack, and Bobby had seen a lizard by the baseball field today, and both of those things deserved his full attention.
