There is a good deal of excitement for Nora and her friends in Miracle Springs.

A ding: As much as I love Ben Aaronovitch’s Rivers of London series, it is NOT about travel.

However, the story gets bonus points for concussion portrayal.

“I’m going to send some post-concussion care instructions with you. You’ll need to take it easy for the next week—maybe more. Pay attention to your body. If you get dizzy, or your headaches increase in intensity, or you have vision changes, seek medical help right away.”

Nora turned on the TV, putting an end to the conversation. She made it through half of the documentary before a pulsing headache forced her to retreat to the softer lighting and total quiet of the bedroom.

Her symptoms had struck without warning. She’d been fine a few minutes ago, and now she couldn’t move. She couldn’t even open her eyes because the light was too bright.

It continues to be a cute series, but also one I’m only picking up on sale or borrowing from the library.
