The second Bone Street Rumba book is as much about Kia as it is about Carlos, and that’s one of the things I especially love about it. Kia is a teenage girl, bored with school, tired of being cat-called, and working for Baba Eddie’s botánica. She’s aware that there is another world that Baba Eddie claims to be able to see, but it isn’t until she has her own encounter that she really understands.

This is a marvelous story and a fabulous series.
