Cry Wolf (2021) Charlie Adhara (Big Bad Wolf)

Cry Wolf

Any resemblance to actual persons or events is coincidental. Though if you do know of a criminal plot involving werewolves that has taken place at any of these locales, that is a coincidence I would love to know about.

Cooper and Park have bought and moved into their house. Now Cooper is panicking over planning their wedding.

Cooper groaned. “Who’s coming is the hardest part.”

“Well, there’s us, of course. What about Oliver’s family? You’re going to invite them, right?”

“I see you’ve been speaking with the voice I hear in my head at three a.m. while paralyzed with anxiety. Good, good.”

But the stumble into a new case–one that involves Coopers old mentor from the FBI, and all sorts of new problems crop up.

Also, Eli has problems as well that he wants Cooper to assist him with.

“You, my pretty little whippet, are very good at being nosy. In fact, it’s your entire job and I want to hire you.”

“I’m not a private detective.”

“That’s fine. I wasn’t planning on paying you anyway.

That all goes about as well as you would expect.

I think one of the things I love best about this story is that although Cooper is a disaster in so many ways, he recognizes this, and tries very hard not to let him affect his relationship with Park.

(W)hat Cooper did know was that for someone who so yearned for easy, plentiful affection, Park had certainly managed to hitch his heart to the wrong horse.

That didn’t mean Cooper had any doubts about the relationship. Park was a grown-up and had shown time and time again that he wanted to be with Cooper. Who the fuck was Cooper to tell him he was wrong?

What he did wonder, though, was as a partner, as a fiancé, as a husband, what was his responsibility in stepping out of his own comfortable habits and healing some of that hurt?

I do enjoy this series. And I just checked–no idea when the next book is coming out. (grump)
