Not So Cookie Cutter (2019) Aidan Wayne

Not So Cookie CutterThis is a sideways sequel to Making Love, in that Jerrell is Carla’s target at the end of that book.

It’s also about a baker.

Maybe he could try some for tomorrow. And it would take way less time than cheesecake. Pumpkin-cheesecake inspired mousse, though? Or trifle cups! With a graham cracker crumble?

“Did I lose you?” Rafi asked, sounding amused.

A man who presents a certain way so everyone makes assumptions that have led him to giving up on dating.

He tended to attract a certain type. And when he’d come out and tried to enter the dating scene, the guys who showed an interest in him had put him into a very specific box.

Until he falls in love with one of the bakery’s customers.

One of the things I like is how Jerrell accepted Rafi’s wheelchair, and that the story doesn’t ignore that it makes things different, but it also doesn’t make a big deal about it.

It took a second for them to figure out the angle, with Rafi sitting down and Jerrell so tall, but after they did it was-

Very sweet story.

Rating: 7.5/10
