Old Sins (2019) Charlie Cochrane (Lindenshaw Mysteries)
Back from vacation, Robin and Adam are trying to decide about wedding plans, and taking Campbell for a walk, when they hear a shot and discover a dead dog.
This not a common occurrence, and the difference between gun laws in the US vs UK is fascinating.
“Somebody said they’d be sitting with their rifle ready to take pot-shots at the tyres of anyone parking outside his house and walking the rest of the way.” …
“We told Treadwell we knew about the threats and that if we could prove it was him, or anything stupid happened, we’d be straight back round with a warrant to search his place from top to bottom. We also made sure the firearms licensing manager knew. When his rifle licence was up for renewal, it was refused. He didn’t appeal against it.”
“I went over the original gun licence paperwork. You know how you have to have people vouch for you as referees?
Though some things are the same.
Conspiracy theorists found everything suspicious that didn’t fit in with their ideas.
