This is the second Mercy Thompson book, and finds Mercy paying back her debt to Stephan that was incurred in the first book.

Why couldn’t the people I cared about just need someone to fix their cars? I could do that.

I especially like the end of this story, where Mercy does something very very stupid, but also very right.
