Jane is sent to Asheville NC to provide security for a visit by Gregoire to judge if the Master of Asheville, Shaddock, deserves his own territory, after one of his turned vampires came out of the devoveo in only two years.
But some of the recent ugliness from New Orleans has followed her north, and werewolves are killing or trying to turn campers, which gives Jane even less time to spend with Molly and her family.
Couple of things to note here.
When all was said and done, I am not sure that the werewolves followed Jane to North Carolina. Were they not drawn by the the witch causing trouble? I feel like Jane took a LOT more responsibility than she should have here. And more blame than she deserved.
Though claiming the whole Enforcer thing was really really stupid of her, and comes back to bite her in the next book.
