wants to get her best friend the best gift this year for her birthday.
Except that she’s broke, and her alchemy skills are terrible. So she
decides to get a job, so she can buy Thaian the gift she wants to get
her.
Calpurnia West, sister store to Calpurnia East (the original branch, circa two hundred something years ago) on the other end of town and purveyor of every manner of magical device one can buy without being on a first name basis with a minor deity.
She gets the job, but isn’t sure about her co-worker, another college student who turns out to be the son of the owner. She thinks… maybe… she likes him? But she’s not really sure what any of that means.
This is a novella about an ace, enby teen learning who they are–and also learning how to master alchemy.
It’s cute and I liked the school projects in the background.
